Industrial Visit by the Institute of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences

From August 22 to 23, 2024, students from the Environmental Science and Technology Ph.D. program joined faculty and students from the Institute of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences on a two-day industrial visit to southern Taiwan. The visit included tours of the wastewater treatment plant at Taichung Science Park and the Safety and Health Department at China Steel Corporation. These off-campus visits provided valuable learning experiences for the students.

At Taichung Science Park, the students gained insights into the wastewater treatment process and the overall plant layout, understanding how water purification is applied in practice. At China Steel, they experienced first-hand the dangers of electrical shock, confined spaces, and fall hazards.

Moreover, the event allowed students and faculty to foster closer relationships through in-depth discussions and positive interactions.
